MULTIDISCIPLINARY SYNERGISM TO IMPROVE EUROPEAN ALLELOPATHY RESEARCH
UNIVERSITIES OF NAPOLI (Event 1)
The Department of Life Sciences of Second University of Naples jointly to the Centre of Research on Biological Ultrastructure of Napoli University « Federico II » can hold the technical meeting on Plant Anatomy in this proposal because some renowned researchers of both Institutions are engaged into the field of allelopathy from several years. The research of Neapolitan's team concerns with the localization of active site(s) of allelochemicals and related cellular events in plant organisms. Both Institutions with their famous botanical gardens are distant only 20 km and situated close to the international airport and railway stations.
UNIVERSITY OF VIGO (Event 2)
The University of Vigo can hold the technical meeting about Plant Physiology in this proposal because the Plant Ecophysiology laboratory has been specialised in plant physiology and plant ecophysiology research on this topic for the last twenty years. The described techniques are available in this laboratory and are continuously used for doing research on allelopathy.
The Plant Ecophysiology laboratory is located in the Vigo University campus, 13 km far from the Vigo downtown where accommodation will be located. It is easily reached by bus from the city. Vigo has an international airport to welcome participants from whole Europe.
UNIVERSITY OF SAVOIE (Event 3)
« Many yet one... ». Our research laboratories strive to analyse and experiment, to understand and innovate, and to publish and promote the results of their research. Environment is one of the seven major research area at The University of Savoie. Within this framework, the LDEA laboratory is gaining international credit for its research in allelopathy. This field of science has been developed since ten years, with a special attention to allelopathy occurring in forest ecosystems. Situated close to the international borders of Switzerland, Italy and Germany, and close to two international airports (Lyon and Geneva), the geographical position of the University of Savoie is particularly favourable to the development of international activities. Further, student guesthouse is available right on the campus for accommodation of participants.
